Well, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. The one day a year that the whole country stops to say “Thank You”. At least thats the way it should be. Unfortunately we have allowed commercialism to invade even there and now it is just about getting the newest toy for the kid, or the husband or wife. I pray that we all take a minute this year to truly stop and think of all the blessings we have recieved this year and truly be thankful for those blessings. I would like to say that I am very thankful for my family, first and foremost. I would not be the man I am today without the love, support, and prayers of my family. Do we have problems? Of course we do. But when I look at the world around me, it could easily be so much worse. I thank God for each and every one of you.
I would also like to thank God for my work friends. The job we have can be a pain sometimes. I work in the pharmacy at a large retail chain. If a person is coming to the pharmacy, chances are, they don’t feel well. So they probably are not in the best of moods. Alot of times, unfortunately, we become “the dump”. They come in, not feeling well, they may have not gotten the best of news at the doctors office or hospital, and since we are some of the first people they see, they unload. There are a few of you (and you know who you are) that make the job SOOOO much easier. When I see that I am working with you, I breathe a sigh of relief. I am truly thankful to have you in my life. Many of you I think of as almost like family. After all, I do spend more time with you than any of my family. I want you to know that I thank God for you and pray for you daily.
Finally, I would like to thank God for my church family. I cannot express how much I love you guys and am so very thankful for each and every one of you! We have lost a few in the last few years, and I miss them terribly, but we know that one day we will see them again. When we get there, they will have no more aches or pains, they will be in better shape than they ever were down here. They will run to meet us and give us a huge “Welcome Home” hug. There are many that I can’t wait to see, and I am sure you have a list too.
This year, sit back and count the many blessings that God has given you. There are many things that go unnoticed. The roof over your head. The food in your refrigerator. The clothes on your back. There are so many out there that have so much less than we do. One thing that God has blessed me with is being able to catch up on bills. Whether it be a medical test that came back ok, or checking the bank account and finding that you had more money than you thought you did. There are so many things to be thankful for. I pray that God blesses you with an absolutely amazing 2019. I know its a little early, but I pray that 2019 is the best year of your life so far. And I pray they just keep getting better!
Jeremiah 30:19 From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.
